Dear Parents and Guardians of Mumford 9th Grade Biology class:
I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into one of Mumford’s 9th grade Biology classroom. This will be my 1st year working at Bradford Academy, but I have eight years of experience as a Science Educator. I hold an Masters degree in Education from Marygrove College and a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. I teach by modeling positive behavior and bringing creativity into the classroom. I am a very strict teacher and set very high expectations for all students. I love teaching students to improve upon their lives every day, so please know that your child is always my first concern.
Each child is unique
Each child learns differently
Each Child demonstrates learning differently
Growing up in Detroit and receiving pubic education guides my passion to bring relevant instruction to adolescent youth. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work along side them to maximize character traits through the science curriculum. The goal is to bring awareness to our children about the importance of using education as a stepping-stone to build better communities for the next generation as well as making the impossible possible. I plan to challenge each individual with rigorous relevant projects and assessments, motivate daily, embrace their fears that limit growth and create bridges that lead to success. I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively and using technology as a teaching and learning tool. I am really looking forward to a structured fun–filled and educational year!!!
